Stories of Migration: Contemporary Artists Interpret Diaspora

April 16–September 4, 2106

In this juried and invitational exhibition, forty-four textile artists use the medium to comment on migration: historic events that scattered communities across continents; today's accounts of refugees from Syria, Africa, and Latin America, and others adapting to new homes; and personal accounts of family members. Co-organized with Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA) and with assistance from GW’s Diaspora Program in the Elliott School of International Affairs. Learn more at museum.gwu.edu/diaspora.

SAQA’s Pod 7 is participating February 12 and 13, 2016 in “ A Gallery Show of Fiber Arts”, a quilt show sponsored by Ocean Waves . The show includes several special exhibits, a SAQA booth with SAQA art quilts, lectures and workshops.

My New Years Resolution

Ok, I have to admit, my blog has been badly neglected.  But I had a very good reason, the year was very busy, good busy. Or too much FB maybe? Still it is a lame excuse for not posting, but I promise to do better in 2015. So this is my only new years resolution, I will try todo better with my blog.

A very sad day

A very very sad day. "Tigerli" is not with us anymore. He was a great studio assistant for 6 years, loved to eat, protected his girl friend MingMing and enjoyed being brushed to its fullest. He enjoys cat heaven I am sure.
